 the specs are incomplete

by noestamal on: Mar 5 2010

The specifications of the Open-PC are far from complete.

* How fast is the RAM?
* How many rpm is the hard disk, what amount of cache does it have?
* Which ASRock mainboard is being used exactly?
* The box does not have a DVI port, only a VGA one?
* How much power does it consume (with just keyboard, mouse and monitor connected, excluding the monitor from the power consumption, of course)?
* Where can I download the installed OS and its source code?

Why did you choose to put in three gigabytes of RAM? One would have been enough, two more than enough. Anything more just draws extra power.

The price is too high. Comparing with the Abaco Dual (http://www.abacocomputers.com/Computer-Desktop/Dual.html), taking away its DVD player, choosing a smaller disk, adding more memory and ten euros for KDE, the cost of that one comes again to 295 euros. That is a reasonable price.
